This Privacy Policy explains how Java IDE collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.
Java IDE is an offline-capable Java development environment featuring OpenJDK 21, a code editor, a Linux-based PTY terminal, tutorials, code challenges, and an integrated AI coding assistant powered by Google Gemini.
Privacy First: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or harvest personal user data. We do not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics trackers, or user profiling services. All source code and projects are saved locally on your device.
A. User-Generated Code & Projects
All Java projects, code files (.java), configurations, and terminal sessions created by the user are stored strictly on the user's local device sandbox. These files are never automatically uploaded to any remote server or cloud storage managed by us.
B. AI Agent Conversations & Code Context
When you voluntarily interact with the integrated AI Agent:
https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com).C. Gemini API Key Configuration
Users may optionally provide their own Google Gemini API key in app settings. Your API key is stored securely in local device storage (SharedPreferences) and used strictly in authorization headers for outbound requests to Google's official API. It is never transmitted to us or any unauthorized third party.
D. No Account Registration
You can use Java IDE without creating an account. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, locations, or payment information.
The application requests only permissions essential for core IDE functionality:
| Permission | Type | Purpose & Usage |
|---|---|---|
INTERNET |
Network | Download OpenJDK & bootstrap runtime packages from official mirrors, connect to Google Gemini API for AI features, and allow outbound calls from user-written code. |
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Network | Check connectivity state before initializing package downloads or AI requests. |
READ / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE |
Storage | Allow users to import existing Java files or export projects to device storage upon user request. |
WAKE_LOCK |
System | Prevent the processor from sleeping while compiling code, installing runtime packages, or running long terminal jobs. |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE |
System | Maintain uninterrupted execution for user terminal tasks and background compilation tasks. |
To safeguard user API keys and prevent automated bot abuse of generative AI services, the application performs local checks for active VPN connections and proxy configurations before dispatching AI queries:
Java IDE communicates with trusted external service providers solely for core app functions:
| Provider | Role | Data Handled |
|---|---|---|
| Google Generative AI (Gemini API) | AI Code Assistance | User-submitted prompt text and selected code context transmitted to generate coding responses under Google's Privacy Policy. |
| Google Fonts | Typography | Standard HTTP header requests to fetch fonts for user interface rendering. |
| Termux / GitHub Package Mirrors | Runtime Distribution | Downloading open-source OpenJDK 21 and Linux terminal environment binaries. |
For more details on how Google processes AI query data, review the Google Privacy Policy.
